Nice and Monaco
On the way to Nice we had a mid-day stop at the medieval Cistercian Abbey of Thoronet. Patrick had arranged for another wonderful lunch under the trees. He just kept surprising us!
The Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. The gardens were the prettiest gardens I can remember seeing anywhere. After the tour of the house, we all took our own time in the gardens and then we walked back down to Nice with Martha and Marty, and Denise and Del, stopping for lunch along the way.
Dwayne telling Patrick goodbye and my buddy Lorry showing me some of his pictures. His are a lot better than mine!
We stayed an extra day and went to Monaco with Martha and Marty, and Lenore and Cal. So I have included an assortment of these pictures. Monaco has beautiful buildings and gardens. We happened to be there on a holiday Monday, which meant that it was more crowded than usual for October.
Cal, me, Martha, Lenore, Dwayne, Marty and the owner of L'Ecurie Restaurant in Nice. The restaurant is in Rick's book and she was very welcoming. She brought us a lemoncello at the end of our meal. The food was wonderful and it was a great way to end a trip!
I hope you have enjoyed seeing our trip. There were only 3 couples of the 12 in this group who had traveled with RS before, but I know from talking with the others that it won't be their last tour. We made some good friends and enjoyed Patrick and Hilde so much that we hope to see them again. One thing I would like to recommend is travel light! And keep traveling!!
Au revoir la France, nous y reviendrons bientot!
(Goodbye, France, we will return soon!)
